Blogs are supposed to be about what we like and what we do not, so here goes!
I live in the country in a village in Lancashire where we have fields of wheat and not too many of those white fluffy monsters called sheep, so I’m very, very lucky. Mum takes me out for a walk each morning and evening and I often get to meet other dogs and humans – just a hint for all you younger pups out there – watch where the humans have their paws – if they have them hidden in what’s called a “pocket” there may be a treat in it for you. If they pull their paws out and wave them, it usually means no treats are going to be forthcoming and you may as well go off and sniff something interesting because the humans will stand and chat for a few minutes.
We also like to walk along the canal bank behind our kennel and sometimes see friends there, too. When the grass is long I like to walk on my hind legs to see what’s in front of me and Mum calls me her “meercat”! I need to keep my eyes open because sometimes we see four tups and they’re really scary for a small terrier! About six times bigger than me and a lot heavier!
Anyhoooooo…….I must work out how to put a nice banner picture on this blog thing and paw about a bit with it in general.

Yes, here I am! My friend Liffey suggested I get a blog of my own and I did just that (more about Liffey, Lif, the Lifster later)!

Today has been a very important day for me, I’ve become part of a brand new PAT (Pets as Therapy) team with my Mum! I can’t wait until I get my Pets as Therapy yellow jacket – then I’ll be able to visit elderly, unwell or vulnerable people in hospitals, hospitals and other places, but let me tell you my story from the beginning…………..

My canine Mum was assessed by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People in an Irish Rescue centre and thought to be suitable for training and taken back to their HQ, The Grange, in Buckinghamshire where she was found to be in pup and whelped of MEEEEEEEEE and my brothers and sisters (six in all I think).

Well after a bit, I was sent to the Beatrice Wright Centre in East Yorkshire to receive Hearing Dog Training – ooop North I was in “puppy bead and breakfast” only coming to the Centre during the day.

After a while, sad to say (I’m told it was a tough decision), I became a Hearing dog Fallen Angel, one who didn’t quite make the grade to be in a Hearing Dog Partnership – but all was not lost!!!! My human Mum, a Hearing Dog supporter, had applied to rehome an Angel and that Angel was Meeeeeeeeee! I went home to live with her as a pet dog in May 2006 when I was fourteen months old and a new story began…….
